TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (Press Shia) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi has denounced the deadly train blast at the Saint Petersburg metro system.
Ghasemi also offered his sincere condolences to the government and people of Russia and families of those affected.
Creating insecurity and the killing of innocent people is the most humiliating act for achieving political goals is condemned and rejected with any purpose and motivation, he said on Monday.
He reaffirmed the importance of international cooperation in combating terrorism, regardless of its motives; “we believe that drying up the roots of such crimes and atrocities has no way but serious will and determination of all states and international organizations,” he noted.
According to CNN, at least 11 people were killed and 45 injured in the explosion that happened as a train travelled between the Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologichesky Institut stations on Monday.
Russian security agencies found and defused a second explosive device at the Ploschad Vosstaniya station, one of the city’s busiest stations.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
