TEHRAN, Jul. 23 (Press Shia Agency) – Iran has strongly condemned Israeli regime’s continued acts of aggression and brutal crackdown on Palestinians, calling on independent nations across the world to voice solidarity with the oppressed people.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi on Sunday said the continuation of massive crackdown on the Palestinian people by “occupying Zionists” and their acts of aggression and violation of Palestinians’ basic rights, particularly restriction of religious freedom and prevention of Palestinians’ access to holy sites, shows that Palestine is still the number one issue of the Muslim world, and that the Zionist regime is the manifestation and main source of state terrorism and spreading terror across the region.
Ghasemi criticized certain so-called promoters of Islam in region for their silence and inaction in the face of Israel’s aggression, calling on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to make an urgent probe into the unfortunate developments in the occupied territories and take a firm stance against Israel’s acts of repression and racial and religious discrimination policies against the Palestinian people.
He further called on international and human rights institutions such as UN Human Rights Council and UNESCO to abide by their duty in putting an end to the inhuman, anti-cultural and anti-human rights policies of the Zionist regime.
