TEHRAN, Sep. 18 (Press Shia Agency) – Head of President’s Office Mahmoud Vaezi, in response to US claim on visiting Iran’s military sites under terms of the JCPOA, said the new American government has had no opportunity to study document of the nuclear deal.
In response to claims made by American officials that there exists no difference between visiting nuclear and military sites, Mahmoud Vaezi said “in my opinion, everything has been clearly stated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).”
He emphasized that the new US government has failed to study text of the text of JCPOA in details and are unaware of the cooperation between Iran and the IAEA over the past four years, hence their strange remarks.
“Indeed, strange remarks of Donald Trump are not limited to Iran since the US president has also made bizarre statements about his own country,” he continued.
Earlier on Thursday, Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), confirmed claims made by Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki R. Haley, who said there was no difference between visits to the nuclear and military sites.
Americans intend to mix non-nuclear issues with nuclear issues in order to minimize JCPOA benefits for Iran. Today, Americans are comfortable with Iran’s commitment to its primary obligations and with the fact the verification is carried out regularly. On the basis of verifications, Amano and Trump have been repeatedly forced to confirm Iran’s commitment to the JCPOA and issued orders to suspend sanctions. Yet, the US Congress has introduced new sanctions against Iran on the pretext of human rights and missile activities and seeks to extend sanctions to push Iran back to sanction years.
Along with sanction policies, the US is also struggling to push Iran out of the nuclear deal by putting pressure on Iran by raising unreasonable issues like visits to military centers.
