DAMASCUS(Press Shia Agency) – Calm prevails the liberated city of Deir ez-Zor, east of Syria, after three years of war and blockade.

Syrian troops broke through the defenses of the Daesh (also knowns as ISIS or ISIL) terrorists on the outskirts of Deir ez-Zor and broke the three-year siege of the city on September 5.

Now, the Syrian troops and their allies supported by the Russian air force are advancing to liberate all the neighborhoods in Deir ez-Zor region that connects this eastern province of Syria to Iraq.

Meanwhile, the media reports said that the Syrian Army has completed landmark Euphrates crossing in Deir ez-Zor which will allow the forces access to the northern sector of the region.

Also, the US-backed fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces have been also advancing against Daesh militants along the eastern bank of the Euphrates, while Syrian government forces and their allies are pushing from the west.

The simultaneous advancements against Daesh have raised concerns of clashes between SDF and the Syrian troops.
