TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (Press Shia) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said US President Trump’s speech at the UN General Assembly has clearly depicted the US as the most isolated country in today’s world.
Speaking to reporters upon arrival in Tehran following his four-day visit to New York, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the nuclear deal will not be reopened, and that the US and Israel are the only two countries against the agreement which is considered by all to be beneficial to the whole world.
“There were some remarks from certain sides that the JCPOA is not too bad but it cannot remain as it is and needs more negotiation to fix its flaws, but those remarks were not logical and we made it clear that the nuclear deal is non-negotiable,” Rouhani stressed.
He went on to add, “during my meetings with European officials from France, UK, Sweden, Belgium, and Bulgaria, they all stressed that the nuclear deal is irreversible and cannot be modified.”
“The US wanted to imply that Iran has not stayed true to the spirit of the nuclear deal, but everyone was in agreement that is the job for the International Atomic Energy Agency which has confirmed Iran’s commitment to the deal in its several reports,” Rouhani said.
The President maintained that Trump’s words at the UN General Assembly indicated that the US president had no idea what the nuclear deal actually was and had no knowledge of legal issues; “his words were similar to the same old remarks by the Zionist regime,” he added.
“Today, no one asks us anymore why we are not abiding by the international law,” Rouhani said, adding “the European officials explicitly asked us how to resolve the terrorism issue. They asked us how to put pressure on the US, what kind of help we can provide in combating terrorism. These are the facts the world has finally realized about Iran.”
Iran’s stances toward the region, JCPOA, Myanmar, international developments, and economic relations are accepted by all countries, he said.
