TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – The Yemeni Army and popular committees mounted a retaliatory attack against a Saudi military base in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan, killing at least five Saudi troops.
Following a massive attack by the Yemeni forces on a military base of the Saudi-led coalition in Jizan Province, five Saudi troops were killed and 10 others injured, the Arabic-language al-Ahed news website reported.
In another operation to stop Saudi aggressions against the Arabian Peninsula country, the Yemeni forces fired Katyusha missiles at al-Shabaka military base in Saudi Arabia’s Asir Region.
The Yemeni forces also targeted several other Saudi military bases in Jizan province by Katyusha missiles.
On October 8, Saudi-led warplanes targeted a crowded funeral ceremony in Sana’a, killing over 140 people and injuring more than 600 others.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to UN estimates, over 10,000 Yemenis, including 4,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the military campaign.
