TEHRAN, Sep. 25 (Press Shia) – The head of Iran’s Parliament Research Center Kazem Jalali met with Michel Duclos, the Director General of International Diplomatic Acadmey of France, conferring on important regional and international issues.
During Monday meeting, the two sides exchanged views on developing economic relations in post-JCPOA era.
Jalali said the two countries enjoy high potentials, particularly in the areas of energy, communication, transportation and vehicle production; following the historic nuclear deal, the two countries have applied some and boosted their business interactions.
The Iranian official also expressed optimism over the expansion of ties between Iran and France to encompass political and economic cooperation as well.
Pointing to the turbulent situation of the Middle East region, Jalali added that all countries who are determined to fight terrorism, must get involved in the issue and address their spread to other parts of the world.
He also discussed the considerable financial and military resources possessed by terrorist groups suggesting that they are backed by some countries in the region. “The effective fight against terrorism entails cutting these supports,” he noted.
Pointing to Trump’s remarks on JCPOA, Jalali further said that the deal is not reached by only US, rather by 5 other countries. “US president’s remarks are irrational and unreasonable, but violation of JCPOA in any form will not remain unanswered,” he added.
Michel Duclos, for his part, said his trip to Iran aimed at consulting with Iranian officials and learning about their views on regional developments. “Terrorism is the most important threat the region and the world are faced with” he asserted.
The French official mentioned President Macron’s remarks on adherence to JCPOA, adding “JCPOA is a positive step which can lead to further expansion of Iran’s cooperation with Europe and other countries of the world. French president’s policy is to keep the agreement, conforming to the European Union.”
