Press Shia Agency – The following message has been published on the website of Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi.
In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By God, my blood shall be fully avenged when God makes Mahdi rise up!
The website of the office of Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, in collaboration with the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization, has organized a campaign called #altruism_still_lives to invite all the people, who are mourning Imam Husayn’s martyrdom, to donate blood.
We believe that Imam Husayn sacrificed his life for the entire humanity so that his blood, spilled in the cause of God, would remain as a beacon of guidance for the entire mankind. In keeping with our Imam , we can today save people by donating blood.
This campaign has been organized in order to call all of the Shi’ahs, who are mourning for Imam Husayn all around the world, to show their practical adherence to the altruistic ways of Imam Husayn by donating blood and saving the lives of their fellow men.
By donating blood, we would all save many lives but, at the same time and through sharing the pictures of our blood donation in the social media, we will demonstrate a tiny fraction of the sacrifice made by Imam Husayn. This is also a way for us to show the entire world that #altruism_still_lives and that it will live on until the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi.
It is worth noting that one of the implications of this campaign will, God willing, be the eradication of the distorted pictures of the mourning ceremonies held for Imam Husayn which have been widely spread on the internet, and which aim at tarnishing the image of Shi’ah school.
God willing, this campaign will continue on different occasions in different forms.
