TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Yemen’s armed forces unveiled a new domestically-made naval missile, a report said.

The new missile dubbed “Mandab 1" was put on display on Tuesday during an exhibition in the Arab country’s western port city of Hudaydah, Saba news agency reported.

Head of Yemen's Supreme Political Council Saleh al-Samad visited the show and inspected the new missiles.

Speaking during the event, a senior Yemeni navy commander said the “high-precision” missiles were manufactured domestically.

The exhibition was held a day after the Yemeni army targeted Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with a long-range Borkan H2 ballistic missile in retaliation for the Riyadh regime’s military aggression against the impoverished Arab country.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two and half years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, an ally of Riyadh.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
