Press Shia – Tehran’s provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami blasted the western countries for not taking the fight against the ISIL terrorist group seriously.

Press Shia – Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Khatami said, "The Europeans and the US are not determined to annihilate the ISIL terrorist group, and are just seeking to harness it."

The senior cleric reiterated that the days of the ISIL are numbered, and said, "Those who dreamt of a great government extending from Iraq to Syria are gone and they left a record of treason and crime."

In relevant remarks on Thursday, Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council (EC) Mohsen Rezayee underlined that the ISIL terrorist group is very close to be fully wiped out from Syria and Iraq.

"The ISIL terrorists will soon be buried with all their committed crimes in the most debasing manner," Rezayee, a former Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday.

He reiterated that most surprising of all is that despite the root cause of the event in which an army of 30,000 ISIL militants attacked a group of 100 devotees of Imam Hossein (PBUH), and slaughtered men and took women and children captive, today centuries after the Battle of Karbala (680 AD), ISIL terrorists with all the crimes they have committed like their ancestors in Karbala, will be soon buried under ground in absolute contempt.
