TEHRAN, Nov. 17 (Press Shia) – Iran FM spokesperson said France takes up a one-sided approach to humanitarian crises and disasters in the Middle East which, willingly or not, will help to actualize potential crises.
Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the remarks in response to statements made by the French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, during a visit to Saudi Arabia and at a joint press conference with his Saudi counterpart.
“Visits of authorities from trans-regional countries to Persian Gulf littoral states and repetition of their fictitious, frivolous and hostile concerns about Iran while ignoring existing and crystal-clear realities of the region will never resolve the ongoing crises in which Saudi Arabia plays a destructive role,” noted Ghasemi adding “these moves will also fail to help Saudi Arabians overcome internal and regional crises they are faced with.”
The official went on to state that sales of deadly weapons by some transnational countries to the region, including those used in the civil war against Yemeni people, and their support for Saudi Arabia and its partners in the region, only allow these countries to create harsh new crises causing worsening and aggravation of instability and insecurity in this sensitive area of the world.
At the end of his remarks, FM spokesman said France unfortunately seems to have a partisan look towards the crises and humanitarian disasters in the Middle East, and this approach, either unwillingly or unwillingly, helps to actualize potential crises. The current situation in the region and the need to strengthen and extend stability and security, as well as help in the fight and elimination of terrorism as much as possible, require realistic and responsible speech and action of authorities of other countries.
