Press Shia Agency – Ayatollah Mohammadi-Araghi has met with jihadi groups serving the victims of Sunday night’s 7.3 magnitude earthquake in Kermanshah province and appreciated their services and hard work.

Press Shia – Ayatollah Mahmoud Mohammadi-Araghi, a representative of the people of Kermanshah in the Assembly of Experts met with jihadi service groups in the earthquake-stricken western Iranian province of Kermanshah. 

During the meeting, he expressed appreciation for the uninterrupted relief operations by jihadi groups in the province and for their assistance to victims of the deadliest earthquake of 2017 and said, “Improving the conditions of the people in the earthquake-stricken areas requires the efforts of the people and government officials.”

Ayatollah Araghi noted that since the early hours of the earthquake in Kermanshah, jihadi groups, people and officials have come to the aid of the victims and until today, this relief has continued.

The member of the Supreme Council of the Ahlul-Bayt World Assembly said, “During difficult situations and hardships, the people of Iran are always present in a widespread manner and are compassionate and sympathetic with those suffering from any incident.”

It should be noted that before meeting the victims of the earthquake, Ayatollah Mohammadi-Araghi visited the relief workers in Kermanshah.

The quake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale rattled the border region between Iran and Iraq on the night of Sunday, November 12th, causing extensive damage and loss of life, injuries and destroying dozens of villages.

According to the latest figures, at least 436 people have lost their lives and 9,388 others sustained injuries in the earthquake. 

More than 12,000 homes have also been completely destroyed in the earthquake.
