TEHRAN, Dec. 03 (Press Shia) – The Former Commander-in-Chief of IRGC Major General Mohsen Rezaei posted a message on his Instagram account hailing thirty years of Iran working on missile defense as a deterrent element.
“Our enemies from Saddam to ISIL and bin Salman are all the best alibis to prove that Iranian made missiles are not made for war but for advocating peace and establishing security,” reads a post published by Mohsen Rezaei on his Instagram account.
The former commander-in-chief of IRGC (the Islamic Revolution Guardians Corps) released the post on Saturday marking the early tests of Iranian missiles at the time of Saddam’s Imposed War against the newly-established Islamic Republic of Iran in 1980-88.
“Thirty years ago, on a day like this, we successfully test-fired the first Iranian made ballistic missiles in the course of the Imposed War,” the Iranian senior official commemorated the occasion.
“During these thirty years, thanks to the endevorts of Martyr Tehrani Moghaddam, and his colleagues, we developed our missile capability as a major deterrent element which has brought security for our land and the region,” says his message asserting “our missiles are the missiles of peace and security,”
“If we lose our accomplishment of the last thirty years, the insecurity of the region will find its way into Iran,” declared the former commander.
Because of his efforts to boost Iran’s military capabilities Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam is known as the father of Iran’s missile program. He was martyred during an accident at a missile site in early November 2011.
Iran has in recent years made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
The Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured other states that its military might poses no threat to other countries since the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is based entirely on deterrence.
