TEHRAN, Dec. 04 (Press Shia Agency) – Yemen’s former President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed while escaping from Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen in the area controlled by the UAE air force.
He was escaping from Sana’a with an armored vehicle, when Saudi-led coalition killed him, along with his VP Aref Zoka and the secretary general of the National Congress Party Yaser al-Awazi.
Russia Today also, quoting its correspondent, said Saleh may have been at the permanent headquarter of the General People’s Congress in Sana’a where he has been killed.
Media Advisor to the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, Ahmed al-Habishi, announced Monday that former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has been killed in the area controlled by UAE air force.
Reports quote him as saying that UAE fighter jets, which belong to the Saudi coalition, carried out airstrikes on Ali Abdullah Saleh’s positions last night.
The official added that the Yemeni Interior Ministry will issue a statement in a few minutes to confirm the death of Ali Abdullah Saleh and a number of others during the UAE airstrikes.
Reports on the death of Mohammad Abdullah al-Qousi, the pro-Saleh Interior Minister, are not confirmed, he added.
While some sources affiliated to Saudi lead coalition tried to accuse Yemeni popular Committees of Saleh’s killing, all facts on the ground shows he has been killed by Saudi mercenaries.
