Press Shia – An Iraqi scholar argued that the headquarters of the United Nations must be relocated to another country from the United States.

Press Shia Agency – During his speech to a crowd of people in the Iraqi holy city of Kadhimayn, Ayatollah Mohammad Mahdi al-Khalisi, an Iraqi scholar, responded to the recent decision by the United States to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime, saying, “The United Nations Security Council must condemn [United States President Donald] Trump’s decision because it undermines global security and stability.”

The Iraqi scholar noted that “Trump has negotiated with the Zionists in order to reach the Oval Office,” and added, “Zionists in the United States are lobbying for the Judaization of Jerusalem al-Quds and the naming of the city as the capital of the Zionist regime.”

Ayatollah al-Khalisi stated that official Arab organizations are responsible for such a criminal alliance adding, “Global assemblies and international organizations must strongly condemn this criminal act.”

He urged the United Nations’ Secretary-General [António Guterres] to “annul this action by the United States by holding a meeting” and not to allow the United States “to act in contrary to international treaties.”

Ayatollah al-Khalisi said that “the United States has no rights to comment on this issue as a just and fair country because they are considered a partner in most of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime.”

He stressed that the United Nations headquarters “must be transferred from New York City to another country.”

The Islamic scholar also said, “Islamic countries must take a coordinated stance against this decision by the United States and cut off all their relations with the Zionist regime in various fields.”
