Press Shia Agency – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon’s Sayyidah al-Zahra Complex, Ayatollah Afif al-Nablusi expressed his satisfaction regarding the position taken by the Islamic nations and the countries of the region regarding the decision of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to transfer the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the holy city of Jerusalem al-Quds.
The senior Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said protests, meetings, conference, speeches and positions will be the beginning of a massive popular, political and military campaign inside and outside Palestine.
Referring to the internal situation in Palestine, Ayatollah al-Nablusi pointed out, “We are not seeking to exaggerate this issue but the conflict and protests inside and outside Palestine are intensifying day by day. We are on the verge of a new transformation in the region.”
His Eminence added, “It is not correct to say that based on historical experiences, the fervour of the popular protests cools down after a few days or a few weeks and gradually disappears.”
He argued that the current situation in the region cannot be compared to the past and stated, “Although Arab and Islamic stances became cooler and cooler with time and Israel was also able use the passage of time to normalize its behaviours, but this time the conditions have completely changed.”
Ayatollah al-Nablusi continued, “The good news of the beginning of a revolution and a new intifada both inside and outside of Palestine has been heard. The opportunity to form a Front of the Oppressed against the Front of the Arrogant Powers has been created.”
In conclusion, the Friday prayer leader of Sidon stated that our hope is in the victory of this intifada for the warriors, resistant jihadis, the oppressed Palestinian people and the freedom-seeking people of the Islamic ummah.”
On December 6th, defied global warnings and said Washington formally recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and would begin the process of moving its embassy to the occupied city, breaking with decades of American policy.
The occupied Palestinian territories have been the scene of protests and clashes since the announcement. Most of the protests have been met with a fierce response by Israeli forces. The regime’s troops have also made dozens of arrests amid clashes with Palestinians.
