TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday met with his Lebanese counterpart Gebran Bassil in the east Mediterranean country’s capital of Beirut.

At the meeting, the top Iranian and Lebanese diplomats explored avenues for improving cooperation between the two countries in different political, economic and cultural fields.

They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly the Syria crisis.

Zarif and Bassil later hold a joint press conference in which they described the Zionist regime of Israel and Takfiri extremist terrorism as a common threat to both the region and the world.
