TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – The fourth consecutive Friday of rage across Palestine in protest at the US decision to declare the city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) capital of Israel demonstrates that the Palestinian Intifada is not going to subside, a spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement said.
The clashes between the Palestinian citizens and Israeli troops on the fourth Friday of rage show clearly that the Intifada (uprising) in Palestine will continue, Daoud Shihab was quoted as saying by Al-Manar.
The widespread protests that continued until the late hours of Friday signify the failure of policy of terror and suppression in the face of resistance and the courage shown by the youth, he added.
Shihab also reaffirmed the Islamic Jihad’s support for the Palestinian Intifada, expressing readiness to cooperate with the other national and Islamic groups.
Palestinian groups declared Friday as another "day of rage" following the controversial decision by US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The move drew global condemnation and prompted a series of protests in the Gaza Strip and elsewhere.
The Israeli military used tear gas and gunfire to break up protests on Friday.
At least 10 Palestinians were injured in the clashes, according to Al Jazeera.
Fifteen people have died, and at least 2,900 others have been injured since Trump's announcement was made, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
At least 500 people have been arrested, including Fatah leaders in al-Quds.
