TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Secretary General of Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrallah met in Beirut on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed the latest political developments in Lebanon and in the region.
Later in the day, the top Iranian diplomat held talks with Lebanon’s new Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who is tasked with forming a new government.
Zarif arrived in Beirut on Monday and held a meeting with Lebanon’s new President Michel Aoun, becoming the first foreign minister to meet with the newly-elected leader.
The Iranian foreign minister also met with his Lebanese counterpart Gebran Bassil.
