TEHRAN (Press Shia) – The Islamic Republic has gained “real power” in the international community and is following the right path, an obvious sign of which is the US president’s constant concern about Iran and his hostile stances, Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said.

The fact that Donald Trump, the president of a self-proclaimed superpower, concerns himself with opposing Iran all the time -obvious in his Twitters posts and stances- demonstrates that the Islamic Republic has “real power” and has taken the right path, the top Iranian judge said in a meeting of senior Judiciary officials on Thursday.

Acknowledging the need to remedy the deficiencies in Iran, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani stressed that despite the shortcomings, “the Islamic Republic is shining in the region and the world more than ever.”

The top judge also warned of hostile plots to upset security in Iran through the cyberspace, saying the current process of regulating the virtual space in Iran is totally against the national security.

He further called on the country’s security organizations to take serious action against the internal ringleaders in the cyberspace who cooperate with the enemies.

The top judge also praised the Judiciary authorities, Police, and security forces for handling of the recent unrest in the country.

In late December, peaceful protests over economic problems broke out in a number of Iranian cities, but the gatherings turned violent in some places when groups of participants, some of them armed, vandalized public property and launched attacks on police stations and government buildings.

Following the unrest, people held several demonstrations across the country to condemn the violent riots and acts of vandalism, and voice support for the Islamic Republic’s Establishment.

In comments after those events, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said a tripartite plot was behind the violent unrest, referring to the US and Israel as one side of the triangle that masterminded the plot and worked on it for months.
