TEHRAN (Press Shia) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called for efforts to boost cooperation between Tehran and Budapest by facilitating banking interaction and easing visa restrictions for the people of the two countries.
In a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Laszlo Kover in Tehran on Sunday, Zarif highlighted the abundant opportunities for collaborations with the European country, and hailed the good record of academic ties between Iran and Hungary, including the exchange of students.
He also praised Hungry for its “balanced policies” on regional and international issues.
Kover, for his part, described Iran as a strategic partner, voicing Hungary’s readiness to enhance ties with “the great nation of Iran”.
The Hungarian speaker also said he has achieved all of the objectives of his visit to Iran.
Heading a parliamentary delegation, Kover has met senior Iranian officials during his stay in Iran, including President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
