TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (Press Shia) – Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Special Adviser on International Affairs, met with Malaysian Ambassador to Tehran Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin on Tuesday.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to the high level of diplomatic relations and parliamentary ties between the two countries, as well as their historic record of cooperation, especially in international events.
Pointing to the presence of western countries in the Middle East region and the recent US presidential election, Iranian diplomat said Democrats took no effective measures in the fight against terrorism; “now we have to wait to see what new President-elect Donald Trump would do.”
Amir-Abdollahian ensured Iran holds its own independent policy and will do its best to establish security and stability in the region.
Facing unconstructive behavior of some actors, Iran holds positive, constructive and reasonable approach, added he. “Iran and Saudi Arabia play an important role in the Muslim world and their cooperation could have positive effects for the regional countries and especially for Muslims; “unfortunately Saudi approach in the region is counterproductive,” Iranian diplomat underlined.
Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, for his part, referred to the ties between Iran and Malaysia saying that several visits of the officials of the two countries to each other’s countries proves deep commonalities.
He also pointed to the elections in the US and its impact on other countries saying vote for Trump shows that US nation criticize globalization and immigration.
Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin evaluated as positive the recent visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Malaysia. “It is a new milestone in the relations between the two countries,” he stressed.
