PARIS, Nov. 18 (Press Shia Agency) – Iran’s deputy FM said his visit to Paris aimed at following up on Iran-France’s agreements on holding a joint economic commission’s meeting in Tehran in the near future.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, arrived in Paris on Thursday to take part in diplomatic sessions with his counterpart in French foreign ministry on a host of issues including expansion of bilateral relations, the implementation of JCPOA, and regional developments.

While in Paris, Takht-Ravanchi highlighted good economic transactions with France following the signing of Iran’s nuclear deal, adding “there are diverse fields for economic cooperation between the two countries such as joint investment, transfer of technology and other spheres of mutual interest that need to be reviewed every once in a while at a political level.”

The Iranian diplomat further noted the developments in crisis-stricken countries in the region such as Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan as another topic of discussion with French officials, adding “the two sides are particularly keen on following up on the issue of terrorism and extremism until they arrive at a common solution.”

He also added that he would discuss the implementation of the JCOPA with the French officials; “I was in Brussels last week to attend high-level talks between Iran and the EU, and on the the same time Ms. Mogherini in an interview and a statement stressed the position of the EU, including the France, in regard to the implementation of the nuclear deal.”

The EU’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini in an informal meeting of the European Union’s Foreign Ministers on Nov. 13 said the JCPOA is a “multilateral agreement” and that she is tasked to guarantee its full implementation.
