AMMAN, Nov. 18 (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian speaker at Jordan’s Security Summit said Iran is the only country in the region that relies on itself for maintaining security and has the least concern for the impact of US election results.
Alireza Miryousefi, the director of the Center for Middle East Studies, Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, represented the country as the speaker for the second day of Amman Security Summit in Jordan on November 17.
During his address, he referred to the remarks made by some of the other speakers including the proposal of Jordanian speaker for the formation of an Arab NATO with the participation of the US, saying “these proposals are the continuation of the destructive trend of the past six decades that resulted in the emergence of six bankrupt and crisis-stricken countries in the region.”
He further censured the persistence of certain neighboring countries for pleading with the US to keep its military presence in the Middle East.
Miryousefi then pointed to some of the suggestions proposed during the Summit which encouraged Iran to have nuclear cooperation with regional countries, saying this issue has been already proposed by Iran and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
“Iran will always support collaboration of all regional countries in regional affairs and has never sought to remove any country from the Middle East equation, or to create some kind of hegemony,” he stressed.
