TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (Press Shia Agency) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution has made new appointments in high command of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s directive on Saturday changed the high command in the Army and Army Ground Forces, replacing Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani with Brig. Gen. Ahmadreza Pourdastan in the position of Deputy-Commander of the IR Army. Pourdastan had been serving as Commander of Army Ground Forces.
The second directive addressed the vacant position with Pourdastan leaving, to serve in the new position. The new appointment replacing him is the outgoing Deputy Commander of Iran’s Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari, who will serve as the Commander of the Forces.
