TEHRAN (Press Shia) – Yemen’s army, backed by Houthi Ansarullah fighters, targeted the positions of Sudanese mercenaries in a district in Hajjah, killing and injuring several of the Saudi-backed forces in the northwestern province.
Despite the Saudi-led coalition’s air support which launched more than 50 attacks against the Yemeni army sites, the Sudanese soldiers were pounded by the Yemeni troops when they were trying to move toward Harad border crossing point in the Hajjah province.
Several Sudanese mercenaries were killed and injured as a result of the Yemeni army’s retaliatory attack.
In the meantime, the Saudi warplanes conducted six raids on Bani Matar district in Sana’a province, an official told Saba News Agency on Monday.
The Saudi airstrikes hit Aiban in al-Aswad Mountains, the official added.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the Saudi-led coalition for the past three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
