TEHRAN, Nov. 21 (Press Shia) – Foreign Ministry spokesperson has condemned a terrorist attack in Kabul which hit a mosque in Shia majority community.

Bahram Ghasemi who was responding to the attack officially, offered condolences to the Afghan government and public especially families of those killed in the attack; Ghasemi attributed the conspicuous rise of extremism and terrorism to supports overtly and covertly provided by specific countries in the region, who merely used them as political instruments to achieve their ends. “Such support for fueling sectarian violence would backfire, hitting their fostering countries directly,” he added.

“More than 30 people have been killed in a suicide bomb attack on a mosque in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, in the latest in a series of attacks targeting the country’s Shia community. The attack also injured more than 80 people, according to Ismail Kawoosi, a spokesman for Afghanistan’s ministry of public health. The number of dead, which included at least one child, was expected to rise,” wrote a Guardian coverage of the event.

“No group immediately claimed responsibility but the Taliban denied having a role in the attack,” the report added.
