TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Preparations for evacuating the second batch of Jaish al-Islam Takfiri militants and their families from Douma city in eastern Ghouta to Jarabulus started on Tuesday, a report said.

Several buses have exited through al-Wafideen Camp safe corridor carrying Jaish al-Islam terrorists and headed to the main gathering point on Harasta Highway, from which they will be transported to Jarabulus later, SANA reported.

The evacuation process is subjected to a thorough inspection where buses and luggage are searched and the names of the terrorists are verified to prevent them from smuggling any civilian and to make sure that the terms of the agreement are not violated regarding the personal firearms they are allowed to carry with them.

From the start of a Russian-brokered humanitarian pause’s introduction in eastern Ghouta, 2,269 militants and their families have left Douma, according to Russia.

Militants had been using the area to launch incessant rocket attacks on the capital. Backed by Russian airpower, the Syrian army has been trying to liberate the countryside to both spare the capital from the attacks and liberate thousands of other trapped civilians, whom militants have been using as human shields.

Eastern Ghouta has now been almost fully liberated with the exception of the town of Douma.

Recently, Moscow brokered an agreement between the militants based there and the government, enabling the former’s safe exit to Jarabulus, a militant-held town in northern Syria.
