TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Venezuelan counterpart, Jorge Arreaza Montserrat, held talks on various issues, including ways to boost the relations between the two countries.
Meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Zarif and Montserrat exchanged views about a host of issues, ranging from bilateral relations to the latest regional and international developments.
The two top diplomats also discussed closer cooperation between Tehran and Caracas in diverse economic areas, including the oil market and US sanctions against independent countries.
Iran and Venezuela enjoy a high level of diplomatic ties and are known as allies, as both are opposed to the US policies.
They have stepped up efforts in recent years to expand economic and industrial cooperation.
