TEHRAN (Press Shia) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry offered sympathy with the families of victims of a bus crash that killed several members of a junior hockey team in Canada.

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi expressed sympathy with the Canadian people and families of victims of the bus crash.

Fifteen people died when a bus carrying members of the Humboldt Broncos team to a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoff game collided with a tractor-trailer near Tisdale late Friday afternoon. Another 14 people aboard were injured.

The tragedy was felt across Canada, where hockey is the dominant sport and making long bus rides to tournaments is a rite of passage for young players.
