TEHRAN (Press Shia) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed concern over the spread of terrorism across the world, calling for an “all-out campaign” against the sinister phenomenon.

Speaking at a meeting with his Slovenian counterpart, Karl Viktor Erjavec, in Tehran on Wednesday, Zarif discussed the latest regional and international developments and said Tehran and Ljubljana have common viewpoints and concerns on the issues.

“Terrorism and extremism are a common concern for all of us in the region and the world,” he said, adding, “In this regard, an all-out and all-inclusive campaign, ranging from consultation to military confrontation is needed.”

Elsewhere, Zarif hailed the trip to Iran by the Slovenian president and his high-profile entourage as a positive step and a very good start for the new era in the relations between the two countries.

Erjavec, for his part, expressed pleasure with his visit to Tehran and said, “A new chapter has opened in Iran-Slovenia relations.”

Heading a delegation, Slovenian President Borut Pahor arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday in a bid to explore avenues for closer relations between the two countries.

He held meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials, including Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani, and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
