TEHRAN (Press Shia) – The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-led coalition, killed several Saudi servicemen in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan, a military source said.
According to the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network, Yemeni troops on Thursday mounted an operation against the Saudi-led coalition in Lahej, a village in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan, killing and injuring a number of Saudi military forces, the source said.
In another development, the Saudi forces pounded the positions of the mercenaries of fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, in Yeme’s southern province of Taiz.
In the operation, the Saudi mercenaries suffered great losses and a number of them were killed or injured.
The attacks against Saudi forces come in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the Saudi-led coalition.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
