Press Shia Agency – A member of the Hezbollah Executive Council emphasized that Saudi Arabia, Israel and the United States’ involvement in the Lebanese election aimed at undermining the Islamic Resistance, adding, “The results of the parliamentary elections will be in favour of the Islamic Resistance.”
Press Shia Agency – Hujjat al-Islam Ali al-Da’moush, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, commented about the possible outcome of the Lebanese parliamentary elections and its impact on the country’s political future, saying, “The issue of the parliamentary elections at this stage is a matter of concern because there have been some foreign interventions in this election. The Americans, the Saudis and the Israelis will intervene in the internal election in support of some parties in order to undermine the Islamic Resistance in the future parliament of Lebanon.”
“The aim of all these actions is to change the position of Lebanon to move from the current axis to another axis, but we are confident that our nation is aware of the conspiracies against the Islamic Resistance,” the Lebanese cleric added.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush explained, “These groups have always attacked Lebanon through the Zionist enemies and Takfiri groups. They have always sought to undermine the Islamic Resistance and eliminate them, but failed. Our people, through their own votes, will counter this new conspiracy that aims at weakening the Islamic Resistance.”
The senior Hezbollah official also highlighted the importance of this election, adding, “The Saudis help their allies in Lebanon if only they declare their hostility to the Islamic Resistance. Therefore, we believe that Sa’ad al-Hariri is at the centre of the Saudi project in Lebanon and has repeatedly stated this in his speeches and stances.”
“al-Hariri has said that his plan is always to counter Hezbollah and disarm the Islamic Resistance, and now, during his election speech, he is also provoking many religious groups to make them fear the Islamic Resistance.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush also expressed his hope regarding the upcoming Lebanese election and said, “Our election situation is good and we are entering the election with confidence and without fear. We are sure that the results of the election are in favor of this Islamic Resistance Axis.
Lebanon’s first parliamentary elections in nine years was held on May 6th, with over 500 candidates vying for seats. Turnout was 49.2 percent, according to officials.
Preliminary unofficial results from Lebanon’s parliamentary elections have showed that the Hezbollah Islamic Resistance movement and its political allies secured more than half the seats.
