TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Head of Iran-Mauritania Parliamentary Friendship Group Med ould Ahmed ould Vall met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari in Tehran for talks on regional issues.
In the Monday meeting, the Mauritanian lawmaker and the Iranian deputy minister talked about the latest developments in the Arab world and ways to expand relations between Tehran and Nouakchott.
In a post in his social network account, Jaberi Ansari hailed Mauritania for adopting a “relatively balanced” policy toward regional developments despite heavy pressure exerted by certain belligerent countries in the region on the African nation.
Expansion of relations with African countries in all fields is top on the agenda of Iran’s foreign policy.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has repeatedly stressed his administration’s interest in boosting ties with African states.
