TEHRAN, Dec. 03 (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the renewal of sanctions would disparage the US at the international level, while they would not affect third parties.
Speaking upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Saturday morning, Zarif underlined “as in the past, US officials are obliged to stop the implementation of sanctions.”
If signed by the President of US, the sanctions renewal despite never been executed, would damage the international image of the US among world nations, Zarif noted.
Zarif, who kicked off his three-leg Asian tour on early hours of Saturday, spoke with reporters at Delhi Airport saying his trip to India aims at attending the 6th Heart of Asia ministerial conference due on Saturday.
Touching upon his schedule in India, Zarif said he would address the conference on the latest developments in Afghanistan and the challenges it faces as well as Tehran’s stance in this regard.
He would also deliver a speech at Observer Research Foundation (ORF) on Saturday.
Zarif will visit China and Japan as the second and third leg of his tour, where he will sit down with a number of Chinese and Japanese officials to discuss bilateral issues, expansion of ties and trade relations.
The delegation accompanying the Iranian foreign minister includes heads of 38 companies affiliated with the Iran Chamber of Commerce, representatives from 15 knowledge-based companies and 8 commercial banks as well as a number of officials in the industrial, trade and scientific sectors.
