TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani plans to hold talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit slated for June 9-10.

Rouhani and Putin plan to discuss some regional issues as well as the latest developments on the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Russia’s RIA Novosti quoted Putin’s adviser, Yuri Viktorovich Ushakov, as saying on Monday.

He added that the two sides would also review holding a meeting on the Caspian Sea cooperation.

Meetings between the Iranian president and his Uzbek, Pakistani, and Tajik counterparts, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Mamnoon Hussain, and Emomali Rahmon, have also been arranged in advance, the adviser said.

Rouhani's visit is slated to take place at the official invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
