TEHRAN (Press Shia) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting with his Omani counterpart for talks on various issues during a visit to Muscat.
The top Iranian diplomat has travelled to Muscat for a round of political talks within the framework of regular consultations between the Islamic Republic and the Sultanate of Oman.
On Sunday, Zarif met with Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, discussing bilateral and regional issues.
Iran and Oman share age-old and close diplomatic, economic, and military ties. Sultan Qaboos of Oman played an important role in facilitating the early stages of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers, which led to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015.
