TEHRAN, Dec. 06 (Press Shia) – After a two day visit to Beijing, Zarif’s second stop in his trilateral tour of Asian countries the Iranian foreign minister left China for the Land of the Rising Sun.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who headed a delegation to the Chinese capital city of Beijing, after a two-day visit and meetings with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, the President of Peking University Lin Jianhua and Chinese deputy-Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli, left China on Tuesday for Tokyo of Japan to continue his regional tour.
Zarif’s visit to Japan is at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida. The top Iranian diplomat will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe, the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) Hiroshige Seko, and the Chairman and CEO of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Hiroyuki Ishige.
The current three-stop tour of Iran’s chief of diplomacy kicked off on Saturday in New Delhi before leaving for India’s northern city of Amritsar where he joined the representatives from nearly 40 countries and leading groups, like the European Union, for the 6th conference of the ‘Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process’. While in New Delhi, the Iranian Foreign Minister attended the Iran-India Economic Summit
Along the Iranian diplomat and his diplomatic entourage of deputies and assistants, high-tech companies’ CEOs and governors of 8 banks make up the high-ranking political, economic, and scientific delegation.
This was Zarif’s second visit to China after the nuclear deal between Iran and Sextet (including China) was clinched on July 14, 2015 in Veinna.
