TEHRAN, Dec. 06 (Press Shia) – There is no legislational void for reciprocating US but it has to be put into action by the Supervisory Committee on Implementation of the JCPOA, said Iran’s top MP Larijani, on Tuesday.
“There is no legal void for countering the anti-Iran measures of the US but it has to be put into action by the Supervisory Committee on Implementation of the JCPOA,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, at a presser on Tuesday in Tehran. The presser was on the occasion of the University Student Day in Iran.
Firstly, he hailed the contributions of the former MP, Seyyed Hassan Modarres, who was poisoned by the agents of Reza Khan (a man who eliminated anybody on his way to the throne), to the establishment of democracy in Iran and praised the resistance of the students’ movements in standing against the dictatorship of the Pahlavi regime.
In responding the questions posed by the reporters, Larijani touched upon a host of concurrent issues including the Congress’ vote to extend the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) for another decade.
“The Americans’ act was a kind of dishonesty to hold their pressure upon the implementation of the JCPOA,” reassured the top MP, “but we do not have any legal problem for countering their measures.”
He also affirmed that the move to pass the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) in the US Congress is a blatant violation of the nuclear agreement.
Meanwhile, Larijani maintained that the procedure to face any violation by any side of the agreement has been devised in the JCPOA and Iran would sent its protest to the expert panel of the agreement.
University Student Day is the anniversary of the murder of three students of Tehran University on December 7, 1953 by the security forces of the Pahlavi regime. The oppression and mass arrests of the students was one day before bestowing Richard Nixon, then vice-president of the US, an honorary doctorate in Law at Tehran University.
