TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – The Permanent Secretariat of the International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) at the Iranian parliament strongly condemned Israel’s recent “barbaric” attacks against Gazans, urging the prosecution of the regime’s officials in The Hague as war criminals.
In a statement released on Monday, the Permanent Secretariat of the International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada decried the Zionist regime’s “brutal and barbaric attacks” against Gaza on Saturday, which was the largest wave of airstrikes since the 2014 war.
The “terrorist and occupying regime” of Israel, which has blockaded the Gaza Strip and deprived the enclave’s inhabitants of their basic rights for 12 years, has shamelessly and openly bombarded the “oppressed and defenseless” people and destroyed the vital infrastructure of the region through using the most advanced military equipment donated by the US, the statement said.
It also called on the world countries’ parliaments, international organizations, and NGOs to prevent the continuous crimes of the Israeli regime against Palestinians and pave the way for the prosecution of the Israeli leaders as war criminals at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Elsewhere in the statement, the Iranian parliamentary secretariat welcomed a “courageous and correct” move by the Irish Senate to pass a bill banning the imports of products from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory.
The bill, which passed on Wednesday in the upper house of the Irish parliament, the Seanad, will need to make its way through more Seanad votes and then the lower house before becoming law.
Palestinian officials and activists supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement hailed the move as courageous.
