TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – One of the gunmen who shot their way into the governorate building in Erbil, capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq, carried out a suicide bombing on Monday, Kurdish security forces at the scene said.

The officials said several hostages remain inside the building, where the gunmen seized control of the third floor, Reuters reported.

Unknown gunmen on Monday attacked the governorate building of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional government in Erbil.

The two gunmen broke into the building and opened fire on Kurdish forces. A Kurdish guard was reportedly injured in the attack.
