TEHRAN (Press Shia) – A number of Iranian ambassadors attended a parliamentary session on Sunday to brief the lawmakers on the latest regional and global developments and the international status of the country.

Rapporteur of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told Press Shia that the country’s ambassadors to Turkey, Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Cuba, Venezuela and Syria as well as Iran’s consul-general in Istanbul attended the session of the commission to discuss the latest regional and international developments and Iran’s bilateral relations with the countries.

Ali Najafi said the envoys gave reports on their activities and plans in their diplomatic missions.

The lawmaker also voiced the Parliament’s support for the Foreign Ministry and efforts to boost the country’s interaction with the world.

In comments on July 15, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity for diplomacy and enhanced foreign relations, saying, “Except for a few cases like the US, the country’s relations with the East and the West must be further strengthened and diplomacy’s operational and purposeful mobility should increase.”
