TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (Press Shia) – Parliament speaker has said British officials have been far from the realities of the region, thus waging hollow propaganda.

Ali Larijani who was responding to a representative in Parliament open session of Sunday about Theresa May’s recent remarks in GCC meeting against Iran, said that British were shifting the blame on other issues, since they had been engaged in their domestic political problems; “the view Britain has adopted about the Persian Gulf goes back to before 1971 when they announced their withdrawal from the region; since then, they had not updated their information as to the events of the region,” he said. “Their hollow ramblings signals this lack of vision and information; the same is true about the US, which have its own problems at home.”

“Today, both countries arm petty states which supported terrorists in the region, and they should be held responsible for their conduct; the so-called British Empire had been the major cause of the crimes terrorists and their supporters commit in the region; they want to engage Iran in their conduct, a strategy which has failed frequently; however, Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy has been to support peace and condemnation of the crimes committed,” Larijani told the representative.
