TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian Parliament Director General for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian voiced concerne on Sunday over the upcoming visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Azeri capital Baku.
Amir-Abdollahian, who is also the Secretary General of International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada, regarded the visit as the beginning of a new intrigue in the region.
Iranian diplomat said the interventionist remarks made by Netanyahu on the verge of his visit to Baku is provocative aiming to add fuel to the fire and light the flames of animosity in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
He underlined that defending the rights of oppressed Palestinians and the holy Qods are considered as the most important duty of all Islamic nations and governments.
“Tehran fully supports Palestinian resistance against Zionist regime’s ambitious measures,” he concluded.
Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Azerbaijan and neighboring Kazakhstan. He had previously visited Azerbaijan during his first term as prime minister in 1997. He will meet with President Ilham Aliyev, and will sign several bilateral economic documents.
