TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (Press Shia Agency) – Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Rahimpour deemed reinvigoration of relation with friend countries in Central Asia as a major axis in Iran’s foreign policy.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour, who is leading a delegation to Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan, met and talked with Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sapar Isakov.

The two sides at the meeting investigated venues to further bolster bilateral relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan.

Iran’s Rahimpour, while pointing to Kyrgyz president’s visit to Tehran in the previous year, expressed hope that earlier agreements will become implemented and new accords will be hit in line with further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Also at the meeting, Isakov of Kyrgyzstan pointed out the significance of the previous visit to Tehran of his country’s President Almazbek Atambayev and his meeting with Iran’s Leader and President voicing optimism that new cooperation agreements will be prepared in order to provide grounds for a visit of Iran’s President Rouhani to Bishkek.

He also emphasized the significance of friendly ties between Kyrgyzstan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a separate meeting with Kyrgyz deputy foreign minister, Iran’s Rahimpour discussed issues like bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

As the next leg of his regional tour, deputy Iranian FM left Bishkek for Yerevan in order to mull over regional issues with Armenian officials.
