TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – A third caravan of migrants crossed the Suchiate River in Tecun Uman on Friday, which marks the border between Mexico and Guatemala.
Some 1,000 to 1,500 people – most of whom are from El Salvador – are now making their way north to the United States.
For Karen Diaz, the people who travel "look for something better, to fight, to work and to move our family forward," because "the economy, the poverty, the crime" in El Salvador "motivated us to leave our country."
Another migrant from El Salvador, Pablo, was forced to leave and "look for another place" after receiving threats.
"We go in peace and what we want is that they give us the opportunity to know us, we want to work, we are not going to commit any crimes, we are workers," Pablo added.
This is the third migrant caravan to have entered Mexico in recent weeks.
