TEHRAN (Press Shia) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wished all people around the world a “happy” and “peaceful” New Year.
“Wishing everyone across the globe – from all races, religions and ethnicities – a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year. Let us all resolve to ensure that no innocent man, woman or child is killed or starved due to conflict, terror, aggression and coercion in 2019," Zarif tweeted on December 31.
Earlier in the day, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also offered congratulations to heads of state and world leaders on the occasion of the New Year 2019.
Last week, Rouhani had sent congratulatory messages to Pope Francis and other world leaders on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH).
Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural holiday by millions of people around the world.
