MOSCOW, Dec. 21 (Press Shia Agency) – Three Syrian settlements joined the cessation of hostilities amid 30 ceasefire violations in the war-torn country in the last 24 hours, the Russian military announced Tuesday.
“Within the last 24 hours, truce agreements have been reached with representatives of three settlements in Lattakia province, bringing the total number of settlements that have joined the ceasefire to 1,073,” the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
According to the document, negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have continued with field commanders of armed opposition units operating in Damascus, Homs, Hama, Quneitra, and Aleppo provinces.
At the same time, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase registered a total of 30 violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria in the last 24 hours.
“A total of 30 ceasefire violations by illegal militant groups have been registered in Damascus (16), Aleppo (12), Hama (1), and Daraa (1) provinces,” the ministry added.
The Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front, and ISIL terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
