TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement Seyed Ammar al-Hakim condemned the US economic sanctions against Iran.
In comments on Wednesday, Hakim slammed as “cruel and futile” the economic sanctions that the US government has imposed on Iran.
Stressing the need for commitment to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and the internationally-recognized agreements, the Iraqi leader condemned the cruel policy of imposing sanctions on the other nations for political interests.
His remarks came against the backdrop of the US sanctions that have frozen all accounts of Iran’s Red Crescent Society and have barred Tehran from receiving foreign aid amid floods.
On Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani decried the “unprecedented crime” of banning the delivery of foreign relief for flood victims in Iran and for the Red Crescent.
