TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif appointed Seyed Abbas Mousavi as the new spokesman for the Foreign Ministry after Bahram Qassemi was named the country’s ambassador to France.

In a decree released on Saturday, Zarif appointed Mousavi as the new spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

Mousavi formerly worked as the director general of the information and spokesperson’s affairs department of the ministry.

Qassemi, who was named Iran’s ambassador to France last month, had served as the ministry’s spokesman and head of the Center for Public and Media Diplomacy since June 2016.
